Not to mention that you can finally get the essence of the story and the characters since the manga is actually what Kishimoto had in mind for Naruto's story. Yes they are fillers and they do not contribute majorly to the main story arc and 98% will not ever be mentioned throught the main arcs, however, I believe they were able to focus in characters that had their potential wasted in the manga/main anime arcs and some of the fillers are realky very light, funny and heartwarming, in contrast with the messy deep sh*t Naruto Shippuden can become depending on your feelings towards the characters. It feels like it is too much, it will sometimes feel boring and somewhat meaningless, but once you finish Naruto Shippuden, you will feel like there is something missing, like you have watched it too fast, like you did not enjoy it as you should and truth is, you did not in fact.
